 DCE by far gets the Cream of Students who turns out to be among the Best of Managers and Engineers both in India and Abroad. But a few who cannot become Engineering Graduates also at times EXCEL in life and become India’s Most Wanted (IMW).

    Guys & Gals of today’s DCE may be amazed but YES IMW’s VJ is Famous Aluminite of DCE Mr. Manoj Raghuvanshi. I happen to be very closely associated to Manoj as a Friend Class Mate & co-worker of The Cultural Society & one of the recipients of Best Organizers of ENGIFEST 1977.

  Manoj joined DCE in 1972 batch in the Mechanical stream, his mother being Professor in Daulat Ram College in DU Campus, foresaw her bright son as one of the meritorious Engineer of India. But son Manoj had very little interest in mundane handwork of Engineering studies, while he studied seriously in 1^st Year, but soon realized that Engineering was not his cup of TEA, so he spent most of his time in College Canteen or in DU coffee houses, discussing debating various topics of general interest. Manoj had excellent flair for both spoken and written English. Elocution was one of his hobbies. He found common interest with his friend Jain and the writer.

   Manoj never participated in college politics, but did actively participate in Cultural Activities. Manoj takes the Credit of being the Director and Actor of First English play staged by DCE students in 1977, when I was the Convener of Students Union and Cultural secretary. The play had the First Girl Artist of DCE to stage in a Play – namely Poonam Ahuja who later did her PG from DCE in 1979.

   Manoj actively participated in Inaugural Engifest in 1975 & then in 1977,later he left DCE to pursue BA (English Hons) & is today IMW-VJ for one of the Most Popular serials on TV.
